We were almost ready to eat lunch when the clock seemed to go backwards. We had to wait an hour for it to catch up. I grabbed a chicken bone at a rest stop and Judes had to pry it out of my mouth so I wouldn't choke. Judes was confused about where it came from. Who cares? It's food.
Later we passed a sign for Normal, Illinois. Personally, I don't happen to think anything is normal about this trip. In Iowa, Judes was very excited to note the world's largest truck stop. She even went inside to visit. Here I am waiting for her to get back:
We got to Iowa City in time for a lovely riverfront walk. At least, Judes and Shoeshine enjoyed it. I needed to be carried for part of it, seeing as the ground had enormous holes:
I was very brave.
When I realized I was safe again, I was all smiles. Judes looks silly because she was panting after a slog.
When we got to the hotel, I wanted to ride the luggage trolley. Judes said no.
After dinner at the hotel, Judes, Shoeshine, and I ventured back into the city. Judes and Shoeshine found a great place to eat human food. The restaurant even had a water bowl for me. Sadly, the humans didn't share their food, even when I asked nicely, and looked super cute.
I did get some friendly attention from other diners though. And the couple in the elevator at the hotel also admired my amazingness. What can I say? I'm a mini awesome.
Goodnight!
