Hello folks!

Today is a special day. I'm going on vacation. Look how excited I am!

Here are my temporary digs. Look at the mountains; how fun!

Last night Judes hung out with a poker-playing kitty:

Happy weekend friends! And if anyone on the east coast is celebrating a birthday, happy birthday!

Howdy ya'll!

As you can tell, we've had some weather. Here I am trekking through the white stuff:

I know, I am quite brave!

Judes promised me a nice stroll this afternoon. I was super excited. Then I got outside, and it got cold. And it stayed cold. And my itty-bitty feet got cold. And stayed cold. And I had to start dancing to try and stay warm. So we went inside. And then I barked because I didn't get my walk. Life is tough when you're an itty-bitty fluffy Sir Rockingham.

Tonight Judes tried out some potato spices (they came all the way from the east coast)! She tried Tandoori hot potatoes (with the suggested side of yogurt), Piri Piri (from Portugal), and Smoky Baked Chipotle (Mexico). All were scrumptious, I've been told.

Happy Thursday!

Hello friends!

Happy Hanukkah, the last night this year. Judes and I had a fun and relaxing weekend. We are ready for the week ahead (at least I am; I don't really know about Judes)!

Judes had a good time combining random ingredients to create a delicious soup. Not that I would know, of course.

Today we had a carrot party. Judes wasn't really into the idea of me celebrating as well, but once I licked her carrots, she changed her mind. Here I am waiting patiently for her to realize I am always involved in carrot parties.

The pretty chanukiah, all lit up on the last night of Chanukah.

And here is some Chanukah artwork. Guess who painted it?

Have a grand week ya'll!

Hello friends,

Again, happy Chanukah! Today I enjoyed a stroll through town.

Then Judes had some help celebrating the holiday.

The little ones dropped food and gave me lots of attention. So I have some new best friends. We lit the chanukiah together, ate lots of foods (latkes!) and played driedel to win chocolate money. Judes kept telling me I didn't win anything. She thinks she knows so much Hebrew, does she now?

And why am I not in the picture? Because I was the photographer, obviously.

Dear readers,

Happy Chanukah! Today some candles miraculously appeared. Alas, they were too big, the channukiah was too small. It was not meant to be:

But don't fret. I helped Judes come up with a brilliant plan. Our Chanukah will not be foiled!

Just as we were lighting the candles, the doorbell rang. Present time!

Thank you Magnolia (and her humans) for the potato spices!!! What a fabulous gift! I wonder if they'd taste good with carrots.

Good evening and happy Chanukah!

Here I am hanging out with Judes this weekend. She's wearing her "thankful" socks. And yes, I do have a piece of the carpet stuck in my mouth like floss. Thanks for noticing.

My friends and I are pretty stylish. Evidence:

The apartment was quite smoky today. Judes was cooking. Look how well she can chop things.

Frying things without having them fall apart? Not so much.

Alas, she made some progress and came out with these:

I know you're wondering what they are. Well, first of all, they're latkes. Because, well, Chanukah. There are some typical potato and onion, some purple potato and butternut squash, and some sweet potato. Yes, you should want to try all these versions. Judes wouldn't let me taste any, but it smelled oh-so-yummy in the kitchen today!

How was your first night of Chanukah, friends? I hope you all have a lovely holiday, filled with yumminess, happiness, and potato-ness.

Happy December, dear readers! I do hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday. I had lots of fun hanging out with Judes' friends, while she disappeared to a snowy wonderland. She made some new friends:

Judes told me all about her adventures. How she went horseback riding, had yummy foods (butternut squash soup, for example), had a campfire sing-along, etc. Shoeshine and the parents even participated in the hoedown! But more importantly, she told me I would probably really like Ft. Collins. Here's why:

These are super important when ice skating, which I am learning these days. They also had some interesting Thanksgiving choices for us dogs:

And then there was this:

Judes said it didn't come in my size. What a silly excuse.

Judes has been telling me about her exciting Christmas plans in a few weeks. I wonder how I'll celebrate...

Good evening friends!

Here I am, being cute:

I like to get all cozy right before Judes leaves for work, just to make her jealous. It works. But look how kind she is, making the bed just for me. She's a decent human.

And here I am heading into the great wild beyonds:

Just kidding. We were on our usual neighborhood stroll. Finally it stopped blowing all the time, and it was warm enough for a walk. It should be 4 degrees in a few nights though. Is that cold? I've got a fur coat.

That reminds me. I have made a list for the Thanksgiving holiday. I, Sir Rockingham the Really Awesome, am thankful for the following:

- fur coat
- carrots
- dinner
- breakfast
- carrots
- cozy apartment
- snuggling
- strolling
- new adventures
- bark park
- new friends (furry and otherwise)
- carrots
- my winter wardrobe
- my light-up leash
- oven cooking smells
- the windswept look
- sunshine
- being cute
- carrots
- bunny rabbits
- Judes

Happy holidays all!

Dear readers,

I do hope you are all healthy, warm, and wealthy. This weekend brought an apple surprise:

Many thanks to those on the east coast for sending these from the west coast to the no-coast. However, Judes won't share. The apartment sure was smelling good this weekend, though. Judes heated up some Rosh Hashanah soup, just in time for Thanksgiving. I don't know why she didn't just keep it a few more weeks for Chanukah.

With all the food, we took a break to work on the side table. Yes, that is the same table Judes has been working on since August. Great observation skills, reader! I didn't want to embarrass her with my canine abilities, otherwise I would have taken over long ago.

And guess what dear reader - she finished it!And now look at our lovely little home. Blow-up couch is fabulous, by the way. Yeah, I told Judes we need something for our walls. Just because everything out here is lots of nothing space doesn't mean we have to go along with that theme. Suggestions for wall decor, friends?

And then Judes decided she needed to use up some ingredients before going on vacation (I assume I'm going along?!) so she literally grabbed everything in the kitchen, stirred it up, and popped it in the oven. What.A.Weirdo.

And that's what appeared. Pumpkin peanut butter chocolate chip oatmeal honey brown sugar  applesauce bread fun awesomeness. Again, Judes didn't let me sample. But look closely - someone had a sample or two. Judes told me her trip to the grocery store was neat. She got to see cars coming in and out of parking spaces like they were engaging in a synchronized swimming routine.

And let me guess what you're having for dinner Judes. Squash?

Wednesday, November 18, 2015

Good evening, dear readers!

Judes has been having fun trying new varieties of squash. This here is carnival squash.

And then today the store had a large bin full of more new and exciting squash. So Judes got...a few.

Here is the smallest one, kabocha. Did you know that in some cultures, it is an aphrodisiac? Well, you do now!

Judes' friend told her she might want to consider growing a particularly large squash and living inside of it. Brilliant idea, I say. She could call that chapter in her memoir: "Judes and the Supreme Squash."

Today was breezy. No, just kidding, it was WINDY. There was even a wind advisory. Judes told me the power went out at work for a bit. Luckily, it is back on now, because otherwise it would be quite chilly! I think I saw part of a fence fall down from the wind as well. What a silly little town in the middle of nowhere. Thank goodness for new squash; I don't know how Judes and I would cope otherwise.

Good evening dear readers!

Judes hinted she might get me a selfie stick for Chanukah, but so far I've been without. That's why I'm not in the photos here. Blame Judes.

Anyway, I thought you might enjoy # 17 of our food processor manual:

I found these socks in Judes' drawer. She claims she doesn't know where they came from. We both think they're fantastic.

Judes and I took a long stroll in the park today. Yes, I did almost freeze on the car ride over, thank you for asking. And Judes did have to snuggle me into her ginormous winter coat so that I would stop shivering. But as soon as we started trotting along, the 19 degree weather really didn't bother me. Still, maybe next time Judes will remember my sweater. I also met a new doggy friend.

After our walk, Judes took a little day trip to Utah. Here's what she found:

And, inside of that fantabulous place:

That's right. There was no marjoram in Wyoming. Funny, the spice company where it comes from appears to be way back in Maryland. What a splendidly connected world we all live in.

Judes told me she also treated herself to a peppermint mocha frappuccino. It was quite tasty, and she had a splendid time singing along to the radio all the way home. Caffeine sounds interesting. I think I'll ask Judes to get me some of that for Chanukah as well.

Happy weekend dear friends!

Hello folks!

Here I am investigating the white stuff.

Judes and I took a lovely stroll today by the mountains.

There were more mountains and more snow a little ways away.

At home we snuggled. And were super cute. At least, I was super cute. Judes was just Judes.

I'm pretty excited about the carrots. We seem to be buying them nearly every day. And by we I mean Judes.

 Licking my lips. Yum!

Judes tried to tell me my shirt says "Sir Rockingham, king of the universe." She thinks I can't read it just because it's on my back. She clearly knows nothing of my powers. Also, I know for a fact she did not get it for me because it came in the mail. So to the anonymous friend sending me warm clothes and love, THANK YOU!

Happy weekend friends!!

The ground appears to be a new color today. Just thought I'd share. Good thing someone sent Judes some gloves recently!

Tuesday, November 3, 2015

So today was windy. Here's a tumble-tree that blew outside our window. It didn't live there before.

And look! I'm now official!

Here's a self portrait. What do you think?

Unrelated, Judes bought herself a vacuum for her birthday.

Happy Tuesday friends!
